We are calling for all musicians, we would like for you to join us this summer in making wonderful music with the American Falls City Summer Band. Adult community members in American Falls and nearby cities who play an instrument are welcome to join the band as well this summer(we've had musicians as far as Bear Lake and Twin Falls join us before) as we prepare to celebrate the "100th AF Days". We meet most Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:30-8:30pm in the AFHS Band Room. We have a super fun set list of music we will be performing this summer! Come and make music with us.

The Summer Meal Program is here to help this summer!
We are serving meals Monday-Thursday at William Thomas Middle School from 11:30 to 12:15 and at Yard Meadows Park from 12:30-1:00 pm. Children 1-18 eat for Free! Children must be present to pick up a meal. No exceptions may be made. Your child will receive some frozen food items, as well as some food products that require refrigeration. These items are perishable and will go bad if not stored properly. Please go through your children's lunch and weekend meals to ensure that these items are placed immediately in either a refrigerator or freezer.
Food Safety is Important!
- The milk and juice that is being served in the summer meal program is shelf stable and does not require refrigeration.
- Yogurt, cheese sticks, cream cheese packets, and fresh fruit should be stored in the refrigerator. If a cooked item is not eaten immediately it should be stored in the refrigerator. Unsealed food should be discarded within four days of receiving it.
- Frozen food items will be sent out on Thursday afternoons, for use over the weekend. Please place these items in the freezer immediately to ensure food safety.
Cooking Instructions
All frozen foods may be prepared in the microwave or oven.
Microwave cooking: place on a microwave-safe plate, cook covered for 1-2 minutes, or until internal temperature reaches 165 degrees.
Oven Cooking: preheat oven to 400 degrees. Place food on a baking sheet in a single layer. Bake uncovered for 11-13 minutes, or until internal temperature reaches 165 degrees.
Please cook foods for younger children, or provide adult supervision to more independent kids.

The American Falls School District Child Nutrition Program is excited to announce our Summer Lunch Program. This year our district has the opportunity to operate the Summer Lunch Program under some new regulations. We are able to provide multiple meals at one pick up. Meals will be served Monday-Thursday. When picking up a lunch the child will be provided with breakfast for the following day. Thursday meal pick up will provide children with food for breakfast and lunch meals for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday as well.
Children will no longer have to remain in the meal pick up area to eat their lunch.
Children must be present to pick up their meals. We are unable to provide more than one set of meals to a child, or have parents/guardians pick up meals without a child present. We are happy to serve children in daycares or participating in summer camps. However, all children must be in attendance to pick up their own meals.
Meals will be distributed Monday-Thursday June 9th to July 31st at William Thomas Middle School and Vard Meadows Park.
Meal Service Time
WTMS: ll:30am to 12:15pm.
Vard Meadow Park: 12:30 pm to 1 :00 pm.
Children are only able to participate in meal pick up at one location each day.
Adult Price: $8.00 for lunch and breakfast per day. Thursday meal pick up is $32.00.

Join us for our Seniors vs. Staff basketball game. The game is May 20 at 7:00 p.m. at the AFHS Gymnasium. Entry donations will be used to fund scholarships for student athletes. Hope to see you there!

Hi everyone! We would like to cordially event you to an exciting evening of celebrating the arts in American Falls. The annual arts showcase will be next Wednesday, May 21st. The AFHS ART Show will begin at 6pm in the AFHS Commons, followed by the SOTF Band Pops Concert, "When Music Takes Flight", starting at 7pm in the AFHS Auditorium.
The Art Show will showcase students' work across all mediums taught at the high school including Digital Art, Glassworks, Pottery, Painting, Photography, Graphic Design and Drawing.
The Pops concert will feature the exciting Jazz Big Band, the WTMS 6th grade Beginning Band, WTMS 7/8th grade Concert Band and the award winning SOTF Wind Ensemble. Song selections will feature the exciting music of Star Wars, Hamilton the Musical, How To Train Your Dragon, the Beatles and much more. We will also be celebrating our 7 year band seniors Avery Beasley & Emma Carter and handing out the annual "Bammie" Awards.

The American Falls School District, Idaho Coalition of Community Schools, and the Region 6 Children's Mental Health Subcommittee , are hosting a Professional Development Training to focus on suicide prevention skills on March 14, 2025 in the American Falls High School Auditorium.
The training is designed for social workers, educators, counselors, and other professionals committed to supporting children and families. It is an open event and any member of the community is welcome to attend. The training includes a keynote address from Keith Orchard, a licensed clinical social worker. Keith serves as the Mental Health Coordinator for Coeur d’Alene Public Schools. We will also have a panel of professionals and community members to further the discussion on suicide prevention skills. The event is FREE to all professionals and community members. The Spirit of the Falls Music Program is excited to announce our Winter 2025 Rock Concert. The concert will be today, Tuesday, Feb. 18th, in the band room starting at 7pm. The Concert is free and will be a super great time. The concert will feature our Ukulele Ensemble in collaboration with this year's talent show winners the SOTF Guitar ensemble. They will be performing music from the likes of Selena, ClearWater Creedence Revival, John Denver, Elvis Presley, DJ Oski, Jimmy Eat World and many more. Come out for a great hour of music and blow off some steam before finals and Parent Teacher Conferences.

Congratulations to Nathan Lammers and JR Simplot Elementary School. They were just awarded a grant for $1,995 to be used for 3D printers and supplies from the Idaho Educational Technology Association today at their annual conference in Boise.

The AFHS cheer and dance teams preformed in front of Hillcrest and JRSE students today. They were an excellent crowd with tons of energy and enthusiasm.




There is a baking class offered Monday Feb. 3, 2025 by Robyn Adkins. Students will learn about the business and trade side of baking as well as learning a few baking tricks. It will be in the Home-ec room at the high school from 6:00-7:30. Reach out to charlies@sd381.k12.id.us if you have a student who wants to come!

Join us at the high school tomorrow night (January 23) for Pathways to Success night. This open house style event is a great opportunity to learn about the diverse career technical & academic pathways offered at AFHS. The event is tailored towards future AFHS students and their parents, but all are welcome. Participants will be given FREE admission to the girls' basketball game that night. This year, participants will enter the high school through the main entrance.

The Village De Sol will be offering Tutoring Sessions at the School District Office for Grades 6-12. They will be Monday and Wednesdays 3:00 - 5:00 and Fridays 1:00 - 3:00 and offering help in all subjects.
