Coach Dana Facer and her son Peter Facer were honored by local speech and debate coaches at the National Speech and Debate Association National Qualifying Tournament on February 19th. Dana Facer was named the NSDA Idaho Mountain River Coach of the Year, and Peter Facer was named the Idaho Mountain River Student of the Year. This is the second year in a row that an AFHS student was given this honor. Both awards are voted on by the Idaho Mountain River coaches. The Idaho Mountain River district covers all of eastern Idaho from Twin Falls, to Pocatello, and up to Tetonia.
