✍️ Writing is like sculpting - taking an idea and turning it into a final product with a specific purpose and audience in mind. 🧑‍🎨 This week, Honors English reviewed the writing process by building a pencil holder out of play-doh. Students discussed and agreed upon the criteria for the pencil holders, brainstormed an idea, and then created their first "draft," which was revised, edited, and published with an interesting, unique title. 📝 After looking at each other's creations, the class voted Lily Cardona's pencil holder as the creation that best fit the criteria. Go Lily! 👏🏼

The football season came to an end in Kimberly as the Beavers could not get past a very tough Bulldog team. The Beavers ended with an 8-3 record. Great season.

Opening night of Shrek, the musical was amazing if you missed it you still have a chance to see it. Friday night or Saturday night at 6 o'clock

Students in Ms. Adkins' Foundational Foods class learned to make wedding cake this week, while students in Mr. Kindall's floral design class learned the basic principles of adding flowers and foliage to wedding cakes. It was such a fun way to cross over two distinct careers that naturally cross paths in the real-world!

AFHS Student Council attended the Idaho Association of Student Councils' State Conference at University of Idaho in Moscow this week! ⭐️ Our council members learned from other student councils across the state, listened to inspiring speakers like Dr. Mark Brown and Amberley Snyder, as well as presented a breakout session that highlighted our Homecoming activities. 🦫 AFHS represented well, winning the Tiny but Mighty award, an acknowledgement of our outstanding school spirit. 🖤❤️ This was such a great experience for our students! 👏🏼
