Thanks to AFHS student leaders for coming over to talk to our 8th graders about all of the club and sport opportunities they will have next year. We are proud of the partnership we have with AFHS and know our outgoing 8th graders are headed to a wonderful school!

Attention parents/guardians of 8th grade students: Just a reminder we are going to Boise tomorrow. All students need to be at the school no later than 5:45 am. All students are REQUIRED to wear their 2023 Pride Week shirts, long pants (no sweats/pajamas/joggers), a light jacket and comfortable walking shoes.
It is preferred that lunch is brought in something disposable since we will be heading from lunch to the zoo with no stops at the bus. We will be gone for 13 hours so please make sure to send plenty of food and drinks. We will not be stopping anywhere that food can be purchased from. Breakfast will be provided by the school.
No blankets, pillows, or Chromebooks allowed. Students will be responsible for everything they bring. We are looking forward to a great day full of adventures!
The 8th grade students held their annual Science Fair last Thursday, May 11th.
3rd place went to Hojany Aguilar and Carlos Palacios.
2nd place went to Kerlyn Mendez, Valerie Rios and Carmen Carlos.
1st place was a two-way tie between Bryn Adair, Yareli Carrillo & Brylee Hodgkiss and Daniela Anzar, Kaitlyn Madden, and Jaslynn Bribiezca.
Thanks to all that participated and stopped by the fair.

The 8th grade Science Fair is under way in the WTMS

Dance tryouts coming up tomorrow!

Our track team wrapped up their season (and the 22-23 WTMS sports season) as we hosted the District V meet on Friday. We had lots of PRs and great efforts. Great job, track and field athletes!

WTMS families: the safety of students and staff is our top priority, and we need your help to make school arrival and dismissal a safer.
Please, please use the proper drop off zones (which are circled in yellow) when dropping off or picking up your child. The yellow arrows show student routes to enter the building. The Pocatello Ave. zone works great when traveling southwest into town. If you are heading out of town, it is most convention to use the Bannock Ave. zone so your child doesn't have to cross the street.
Please do not use the teacher parking lot or the bus lane to drop off or pick up your child. Doing so creates serious safety concerns.
We appreciate your help in this matter.

Spring Pictures will be happening on Tuesday May 2nd. This year we will be doing individual, homeroom, and spring sports pictures only. Group photos will not be done this year.

Today our Sources of Strength peer and staff leaders helped students take a break from ISATs with some yummy ice cream floats! They also encouraged students to remember the various sources of strength in their own lives.

Science Fair time is once again upon us. We are inviting all parents and community members out to see the wonders of science that have been discovered by the 8th grade students of William Thomas Middle School.

Student Sources of Strength leaders need to wear their Sources of Strength shirts tomorrow! Our last kindness activity is tomorrrow.
There are always so many exciting things for our students to participate in schoolwide. Check out this neat opportunity coming to the marching band this next fall. Go Band!

WTMS Parents:
Science and ELA ISATs are done! Students will complete their math ISATs this week. Please remind them to wear their school pride shirts tomorrow. Also, please remind them to charge their Chromebooks and help them get plenty of sleep this week.
Thanks for helping your child be prepared to show what they know this month!

Midterm grade reports should be brought home today!
ISAT testing is once again upon us. 8th grade students will kick things off tomorrow and Thursday with their Science ISAT. Please make sure your student charges their Chromebooks tonight AND brings their chargers tomorrow just in case. Also try to encourage your students to get a full night of sleep and eat breakfast so they are ready for tomorrow. ALL students are asked to wear their Pride Week/Crush the Test shirts tomorrow in support of the 8th graders.
