The Advanced Floral Design class completed their wedding sample pieces for the trimester final. They developed their own consultation order forms and met with a potential client. They had to probe to discover the client’s needs/wants and then create a portfolio based on those needs. They used the portfolio to meet with the client a second time and refine details. The final part was developing recipes, coming up with an order, and then exhibiting teamwork to complete all of the sample pieces to present to the client.
They focused on harmony across the designs, met a strict budget, and of course, matched the client’s preferences. They designed a bride bouquet, bridesmaid bouquet, toss bouquet, wrist corsage, pocket square boutonniere, table centerpiece, and an alter arrangement—all completed in the 1.5 hour final exam timeline.
Thank you to Ms. Shay Young, the agricultural education student teacher, for serving as the bride who is actually getting married in May. The students got real-world experience through this project.

Softball tryouts are tomorrow from 5 to 6:30 pm at the Lott's Barn and Monday from 5 to 6pm at the same place. For more information, contact Steve Mendez at stevemendez515@gmail.com
English III had a little competition between classes to see who could show the most growth on their IXL Diagnostic. 📈
3rd Period was the overall winner with a class average growth of 134 points! ⬆️ That's an entire grade level of growth in 2 trimesters. 👏🏼 They enjoyed some breakfast burritos with their final this morning! 🌯 All three classes showed tremendous growth! Happy Finals! 📝

AFHS FFA in action today! The Ag Issues team presented their career development event on the Farm Workforce Modernization Act to the Agricultural Affairs committees of both the Senate and House of the Idaho Legislature. Their event includes researching the pros and cons of the proposed act and summarizing their research in a debate format. They did a great job, represented us well, and are ready to take this event's opportunities and competition!
