Our 7th and 8th grade girls basketball teams, supported by our cheerleading squad and a raucous student section lead by Mr. Butterworth, had their last home games of the season this week. Good luck in districts next week, girls!
In honor of Native American Heritage month, WTMS staff and students were treated to an assembly of traditional dances put on by current and former students of American Falls school district. Thank you to all that performed.
On Friday WTMS staff participated in a chili cook-off sponsored by the AFEA. All the food was delicious and congratulations to our 3 winners! 1st place- Brian Leischer, 2nd place- Rickay Rose and 3rd place- Sara Cysewski.

Over 70 8th grade students and their teachers braved the 30-40° weather and rainy fog today while exploring Craters of the Moon. They explored Indian Tunnel and Dewdrop Cave- 2 lava tubes, hiked up both the Inferno and Spatter Cone volcanoes, walked around Snow Cone, and hiked around part of the rim of the big crater. It was quite the day exploring the beauty of Idaho and learning more about the history and geology that shaped the land around our area.
Today, 44 8th grade girls joined over 500 middle school girls from around the state to take part in TechGirlz, an event put on to inspire girls to pursue careers in STEM fields. They spent the day on the College of Idaho campus attending a variety of sessions on anything from designing suspension bridges to biomechanics to yoga and sound bath and more.
They even got another "taste" of college life by eating lunch in the dining hall.
Thank you to Ms. Clark, Mrs. Leischer and Ms. Jenn for taking these students to such an inspiring event!

Fall sports are back! Last week we had volleyball, football and cross country action going on. Congratulations to all teams that won their games! We are looking forward to some fun games this fall.

We are happy to announce we have a new class available for 7th and 8th grade students during 6th hour. Mrs. Lusk will be coming over from the high school to teach Ride for Focus. It's the Outride Project transformation in process! This is such a great opportunity for our students! Thanks to Cameron Spencer, Luis Ambriz, and Office Jones who helped get all the bikes ready to go. If your student is interested in this class have them talk to their homeroom teacher ASAP.
Cross Country season is almost here! Practice starts Monday - August 12th - at 7pm at the middle school track. Students grades 6-12 are welcome to join the team. Middle school races are 1.5 miles and high school races are 3 miles. Hope to see you there!
Free Concert Alert!!!! Your American Falls City Summer Band 2024 will be doing their annual AF Days Concert in the Park @ 12pm under the Music in the Park Pavilion. Grab your camping chairs and come listen to a great hour of music.
The American Falls City Summer 2024 under the direction of Mr. Brian Leisher and Mr. Robbie Hanchey is proud to present the "Party Like It's 99" AF Days concert. The concert is free and will take place at Noon under the Music In The Parks Pavilion on Saturday, August 3rd. The band this year is made of regional music teachers, AF alumni, community members and current AF band students. This year's concert will feature exciting music ranging from hit 90's tunes like Radiohead's "Creep", the Disney movie "Tarzan" which came out in 1999 and other great features that the audience will recognize. An interesting fact of trivia for the concert, the band will be playing the tune "Sweet Georgia Brown", which was a #1 hit on the radio when it premiered exactly 99 years ago.
