Ms. Foster emphasizes the importance of fitness and fun with a new game, Prison Ball, with her 7th grade students at WTMS.

Once a month each grade takes some time to celebrate students who have gone above and beyond in some way. 8th grade students of the month for February are Shyann Olson and Amalia Morales. The 8th grade learner is Jameson Taylor, leader is Elaine Bennett and succeeder is Madi McCarthy. Congratulations to these students!!

The WTMS Players are currently staging a delightful production of Disney's Beauty and the Beast, Jr. You only have one more chance - Monday night at 6:00 - to see this fun and family-friendly show!

Our 7th and 8th grade boys basketball teams both got wins yesterday as they continue to improve in preparation for next week's district tournament.

Mr. Romeros 6th grade PE Class held their Survivor Championship! The Survivor Champion is Francisco Vega. Also pictured are his Tribe members! Tribe members include: Josee, David, Cristina, Francisco, and Jayden.

Mrs. Jenks Art 4 students created large scale pop art that is on display in our library. Be sure to check them out next week during conferences!

Mrs. Crompton's 7th grade science students designed and tested paper structures to investigate how shape affects strength. This hands-on activity encouraged collaboration, critical thinking, and real-world connections to upcoming science concepts... like the skeletal system! And why our load bearing bones are circular in shape.

Congratulations to our own Ms. Baumgart for winning Region 5 Middle Level Educator of the Year!! She was given the award this past weekend at the annual Idaho Middle Level Association conference held in Twin Falls.

Fun things are happening at WTMS!!! In science with Mrs. Coleman, our 6th grade students are learning about potential energy, kinetic energy, and laws of motion in a game of marbles! 🧑‍🔬👩‍🔬 With Mr. Romero during WIN time we had a mix of 6th and 7th graders who participated in a game of lightning in the gym. 🏀

Huge shout-out to our student poets! 36 of our eighth graders were accepted for publication in a national poetry contest through Creative Communications, the most winners in the entire state of Idaho! 🙌🎉👏 We recognized these poets during our Mindful Monday Celebration with certificates, finger-snapping-applause, and three very brave volunteers who shared their poems out loud with their classmates. Their writing will be published nationally this spring, and the book will be available to read for free in our middle school library (families can also purchase a copy through the Creative Communication website). 😊 Huge thank you to Carson Crump, Kayla Osbourne, and Brinleigh Bauer for being brave enough to read/share your poems with the entire 8th grade! 📣

Skill Exploration, Year 36, Day 1

This past Thursday the 22nd, our 8th graders showed off their creativity, curiosity, and scientific thinking at the annual 8th Grade Science Fair—and wow, what an impressive day it was! 🏆 1st Place: MarBella Palacios, Bethany Bolgen & Madilyn McCarthy 🥈 2nd Place: Lainey Moore 🥉 3rd Place: Scotlyn Barclay, Chloe Clinger & Kelsee Evans Ms. Clark is incredibly proud of all the students for the effort, teamwork, and thoughtful projects they presented this year. The level of hard work and problem-solving on display made this year’s science fair truly special. Way to go, scientists! 👏🧪✨

6th grade is still leveling up! 6th grade students were the first grade at WTMS to get all Skill Exploration 2026 Pre-registration forms turned in! Let's keep it up and get all permission slips and waivers turned in first too! Mrs. Williams' world history class learned how to use a simple compass and ruler to create tessellated Arabic designs. These designs are used in rugs, ceilings, and walls.

Attention parents and fans: tomorrow and Thursday's 7th & 8th grade basketball games have been moved to JRSE due to a problem with our bleachers. Games will still start at 4:00.
