Mrs. Baker's class has been learning about kinetic and potential energy by exploring how roller coasters work. We’ve discovered that potential energy builds up when the coaster is lifted to the top of a hill, and then transforms into kinetic energy as it rushes down and speeds along the track. To make our learning even more exciting, Mr. Lammers brought in the school’s VR goggles, and students got to experience virtual reality roller coaster rides. This hands-on activity helped everyone really see and feel the difference between stored energy and motion energy in a fun and memorable way!

Mrs. Bethke’s crew enjoyed the beautiful weather while participating in a neighborhood clean up last Thursday. The students had a lot of fun, cleaned a lot of garbage, and learned some ways to help in their community.

September 11, also known as Patriot Day, is a day to focus on remembrance and service to honor the victims and heroes of the 9/11 attacks. The fifth grade students recognized this event with a "quilt" of remembrance displayed proudly in the hallway.
The fifth grade students from Ms., Vias' and Ms. Breding's Social Studies classes also honored this day with the act of service by making the entrance to our school more beautiful. What a difference we made in such a short amount of time!

Students in Ms. Navarette's Idaho History classes are learning about some of the most influential people from our state and the impact they've had here in Idaho and around the world. One of the highlights is JR Simplot, the businessman our school is named after!

Mrs. Burgemeister's class has read "Our Class is a Family" by Shannon Olsen and is now celebrating each classmate's unique qualities through a special journey focused on class community and inclusivity. For the past several weeks, they have implemented a "Student Spotlight" initiative, featuring several students weekly through an "All About Me" project. This allows everyone to share their stories, interests, and talents, enhancing connections within their classroom familiy. These spotlights will also appear on Mrs. Burgemeister's Homeroom Class' "Rooms" announcement feed. Mrs. Burgemeister hopes to create an environment where students support one another, learn together, and celebrate their individuality.

Boys and girls ages 3.5 - 13 are invited to join Tavaci. Tavaci is a CHILDREN'S PERFORMING ARTS GROUP with children from Rockland, American Falls, and Aberdeen .
Classes are held weekly, with in person and online class options avlable.
Enjoy lots of fun; Singing ! Dancing! Comedy!
Classes begin Monday, September

More fun pictures from the 3rd Grade Bazaar.

For our economics standards, the third-grade teachers held their 1st annual bazaar where the 3rd grade students created a classroom marketplace where students participated as both buyers and sellers using pretend money that they earned in the classroom.
Students were invited to bring in gently used toys, stuffed animals, or handmade items to "sell" at our class store. They learned earning, saving, spending, supply and demand, and making smart financial choices—all in a fun and interactive way.

More pics of special memories from our fishing trip.

🎣🐟 What a fun day! Our 4th Grade Fishing Trip was a huge success filled with laughter, teamwork, and a few big catches! A special shoutout to Fish & Game, our dedicated parent volunteers, and Mr. Morris for making this unforgettable experience possible. Thank you all for your support!

**Catch and Release Fishing Field Trip!**

**Location:** McTucker Ponds
Please have your child dress warm and comfortable in walking shoes. They should bring a COLD LUNCH and water.
Parents are welcome, as we would love volunteers to join in the fun! However, younger siblings cannot attend.

Mrs. Radford's English Language Arts classes created a book where they wrote stories with their stuffed animals as characters. Parents were invited to listen to these proud authors read their stories to the class and parents.
J.R. Simplot celebrates the joy of instilling a love for reading.

Our 5th grade students had the special pleasure of attending the Spirit Of The Falls Music Encounter today.
Students learned more about the Spirit Of The Falls Band through engaging musical activities and concerts. Thank you to all who made such a special experience possible.
