We had an amazing time on our recent field trip to the Shoshone Falls Hydroelectric Facility, hosted by Idaho Power! We are grateful to Idaho Power for hosting us and providing such an enlightening experience. A big shout out to Angela Miller from Idaho

Our students explored the fascinating world of hydroelectric energy and discovered how this incredible facility helps power our communities.
Purpose of Our Field Trip:
The goal of our visit was to learn about renewable energy sources and understand the importance of sustainability in our everyday lives. The Shoshone Falls facility is a perfect example of how we can harness nature's power to generate electricity while caring for our environment.

JR Simplot Elementary School's Community Haunted Hall and Carnival is coming up soon!! We are in need of candy donations for prizes as well as volunteers. Please let your child's teacher know if you are willing to volunteer for this fun filled event or send candy for prizes. Exciting things are happening in Mr. Morris' classrooms! Students are currently engaged in a fun and educational project where they are creating straw rockets. This hands-on activity allows them to demonstrate their measurement skills while applying their newly learned science concepts about energy and air propulsion. The students definitely have demonstrated some creative designs and innovative ideas in this straw rocket launch event.
**Mystery Bag Project Fun!**
Mrs. Burgemeister's classes are having an absolute blast with our Mystery Bag Project! Our students are diving into the exciting challenge of identifying the main idea and supporting details through a fun and interactive way. Each bag is filled with intriguing clues that spark curiosity as they work together to uncover the topic or main idea.
A huge shoutout to all the students who have participated and brought in their own mystery bags from home! Your creativity and enthusiasm have made this project even more engaging.

ATTENTION ALL "DADS" of JRSE Students!🍕 Reminder of our annual 'Dads and Kids' Pizza Night Event next Tuesday, September 24, 2024 from 5:30 - 6:30 PM. We will have FREE Pizza, Drinks, and Fun! Please meet at JRSE at the school gym at 5:30 PM for free pizza and drinks. At 6 PM we will have a presentation about our WATCH D.O.G.S. (Dads Of Great Students) Program. WATCH D.O.G.S. is an innovative program being used by schools across America, which helps them to be positively impacted by the committed involvement of fathers and father – figures in their students's life. Our goal is to have you spend at least one day this year at the school to be a positive male role model, and provide an extra set of eyes and ears.. Dads, Granddads, Uncles, Step-dads, and Adult Brothers....this is your chance to have a night out alone with your student in a fun atmosphere at school. At this time, there are no adults available to supervise students, and it poses a safety risk for them to be on the premises without adult supervision.
