The Wait is Over—Serenity is Blooming!

American Falls FFA is excited to host Serenity in Bloom, a FREE workshop series that blends mindfulness with the art of ikebana, the traditional Japanese flower arrangement. Each workshop will feature a mindfulness activity guided by Sally Beitia and Carroll Klinger, instructors from James Barrett Fit Fusion Studio in Pocatello, followed by a hands-on ikebana floral arrangement workshop led by American Falls FFA members.

Dates: Fridays, January 17th, 24th, and 31st

Time: 6:00 PM - 7:15 PM

Workshop Themes:

Each workshop will focus on a different Dosha—the three energies of mind and body—and a corresponding ikebana style. The workshops are designed to complement one another, but are also stand-alone experiences—participants are welcome to attend one, two, or all three sessions and take home their own ikebana-inspired floral creations.

--Workshop #1: On Friday, January 17th in the AFHS Library, ground yourself with breathwork focused on the Kapha Dosha, inspired by the elements of earth and water, and create a cascading style of ikebana. Registration closes Tuesday, January 14th.'

--Workshop #2: On Friday, January 24th in the AFHS Band Room, embrace dynamic movement aligned with the Pitta Dosha, reflecting the elements of water and fire, and design a slanting style of ikebana. Registration closes Tuesday, January 21st.

--Workshop #3: On Friday, January 31st in the AFHS Band Room, tune into frequency and balance with the Vata Dosha, influenced by the elements of ether and air, and craft an upright style of ikebana. Registration closes Tuesday, January 28th.
