For one morning during Homecoming Week, parents and family members in American Falls are invited to head back to high school—this time alongside their students.
The 5th Annual Throwback Thursday will take place Thursday, September 17, at American Falls High School. The event gives parents and adult family members a firsthand look at a day in the life of an AFHS student while offering a fun opportunity to make new memories together—and maybe relive a few of their own.
Throughout the morning, guests can attend classes with their students, meet teachers and staff, enjoy breakfast in the commons, take pictures, receive AFHS swag, and enter drawings for prizes.
More than just a fun Homecoming Week activity, Throwback Thursday is an opportunity to bring families into the school and strengthen the connections between students, their families, and AFHS. It gives the important adults in students’ lives a chance to experience the school from their student’s perspective and see firsthand what a day at AFHS looks like.
The morning will follow a modified bell schedule to accommodate Homecoming activities. Participants are welcome to stay for the entire morning or attend as many—or as few—classes with their student as their schedule allows.

Throwback Thursday has become a favorite Homecoming Week tradition at AFHS, creating an opportunity for families to be part of their students’ school experience in a way they don’t often get to do. Whether they stay for one class or the entire morning, we hope parents and family members will join us for a little nostalgia, a lot of Beaver spirit, and the chance to make some new high school memories together.
Participants must be 24 years or older, and recent graduates are not eligible to attend.
Same classes. New memories. We hope to see you there!
