IYSC Game Changer

American Falls — Few coaches have elevated American Falls athletics the way Tim Hoppe has. Last Thursday, Hoppe was recognized as the East IYSC Game Changer Coach during halftime of the Idaho State Bengals women’s basketball game at Idaho State University — a well-deserved honor highlighting his impact on student-athletes.

As the head coach of AFHS Football and an assistant coach for the wrestling program, Hoppe has become a defining force in building discipline, confidence, and competitive success across two major sports.

On the football field, Hoppe led the Beavers to a historic 8–3 season, the highest winning percentage in school history (.727). American Falls finished 2nd in the 4A South East Idaho Conference, marking a new standard for the program and solidifying Hoppe’s reputation as a transformative leader.

But his impact didn’t stop when the helmets came off.

As an assistant coach for AFHS Wrestling, Hoppe helped guide the Beavers to a landmark year — winning the inaugural 4A State Dual Championship and securing the Academic State Championship as well. His presence in the wrestling room has been praised for bringing steadiness, accountability, and a team-first mentality that athletes rally around.

Across both programs, Hoppe has become known not just as a coach, but as a mentor who builds character and inspires athletes to believe in what they can become.

With Coach Hoppe’s leadership, American Falls athletics isn’t just succeeding — it’s setting a new bar for what excellence looks like.
