Due to the severe temperatures forecasted in American Falls and surrounding areas, all schools within the American Falls School District will be closed on Tuesday, January 31st. The National Weather Service has extended a severe weather alert, with a wind chill warning in effect through 10AM on Tuesday. Out of an abundance of caution for the safety of students during early morning pickup and drop-off times, as well as those who walk or wait at bus stops, the decision was made to close schools. The weather is expected to improve on Wednesday, so please dress warm and plan on attending school

"School district officials are aware of some recent threatening social media posts. The Power County Sheriff's Office and the AFPD were contacted, and they are completing their investigation this week. Never in the course of this process did we or law enforcement believe any AFSD students were in any imminent danger. Thanks to those parents who have contacted us about these posts. Please be aware that anytime there is any clear threat to any students, parents and law enforcement will be contacted as soon as possible."

Nutritious School Meals Are Now Free for All Students. Parents, let your school help with meal prep! You can save time and stretch your household budget by participating in school meal programs. The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) is extending free meals to all students through June 2022, regardless of household income. This means your child can get free school breakfast and lunch each day. Participating helps both families and our school. More participation means more kids eating nutritious foods and more funding for our school’s nutrition program. Free and Reduced Applications will not need to be completed for the 2021-2022 school year. All students will eat for Free. “This institution is an equal opportunity provider”
